Greater Olean Hospitality Committee to honor Spragues, Cayas

The Greater Olean Hospitality Committee has announced the newest inductees to the Hospitality Sculpture — this time with a strong Portville connection.

Randy and Toni Sprague of Sprague’s Maple Farms, along with the late Francis “Hoppy” and Janice Caya, longtime operators of Red’s and Trudy’s Restaurant, will be honored during a special ceremony on August 14 at Lincoln Park.

Unveiled in October 2023, the Hospitality Sculpture celebrates those who have made lasting contributions to the local foodservice and hospitality industries through innovation, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.

NY Dominates Big 30 All-Star Charities Classic

New York soared to a 56-0 shutout of Pennsylvania at the annual Big 30 Charities Football Classic at Parkway Field, Bradford High School.

Salamanca's Maddox Isaac, Franklinville/Ellicottville's Isaac Towne, and Randolph's Connor Braley contributed multiple touchdowns in the 52nd game featuring the area's top graduated football players.

It was the most lopsided victory in Big 30 game history.

Bonnies Basketball to Open Season in Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon

The St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team will launch its 2025-26 season on Nov. 3 in Rock Hill, South Carolina, as part of the inaugural Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon. The Bonnies face off against Bradley in the second of three games hosted at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center.

The all-day event starts bright and early with Queens vs. Winthrop at 8 a.m., followed by the Bonnies’ 11 a.m. tipoff. High Point vs. Furman wraps up the action later. The marathon also includes three more games taking place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Renna’s Pizza opened at Good Times of Olean on Aug. 6 after moving from its longtime location at the Olean Center Mall.

“And don’t worry, that legendary oven is coming with us,” the owners shared in a social media post. The move comes with a few new perks, including the addition of deep-fried favorites to the menu.

“We’re excited to team up with Good Times to offer package deals for all your event needs,” the post added.
