LOCAL HEROES!

Volunteers Build Olean's First Inclusive Playground

More than 100 volunteers came together on Sept. 6 to build
Olean’s first inclusive playground at Marcus Park.

The $2.1 million playground, developed in partnership with Intandem and the City of Olean, features wheelchair-accessible ramps, rubber surfacing, shade spots, and equipment tailored for children of all abilities.

As volunteers assembled equipment and poured concrete, Mari Howard, Intandem CEO, shared:

β€œWhen you’re putting that shovel in the ground, it’s more than building a playground. You’re building opportunities for people who wouldn’t otherwise have them.”

A big thank you to the community members who made this groundbreaking project a reality!
