Peter Ash took a final walk through the now-shuttered John Ash Cleaners, expressing nostalgia and gratitude in a video posted on Facebook.

The Ash family's dry-cleaning business, founded in 1919, was a beloved fixture in Olean for over a century.

Peter reminisced about the bustling spaces within the store, highlighting cherished memories and the dedicated employees who made it all possible.

The closure marked the end of an era for the community, with Peter expressing heartfelt thanks to all who supported the business over the years.

The Salamanca City Central School District has recently opened new outdoor courts, offering the community the opportunity to stay active, have fun, and socialize.

The facility features five tennis courts and four pickleball courts with modern push-button lighting for evening matches.

The courts are open to the public when not in use by the school, and visitors can easily light them up for nighttime play.

Olean Mayor William J. Aiello announced his candidacy for re-election on Facebook, seeking one final term in office.

With 12 years of experience as mayor, Aiello emphasized his commitment to completing the job he started for the people of Olean.

He expressed gratitude for residents' support and looks forward to their continued backing in the upcoming election on November 4.

Gala Raises over $100K to Support Local Cancer Care Services

This week we spotlight Bradford Regional Medical Center, Olean General Hospital, and their Foundations for their incredible impact on local cancer care.

At the 3rd Annual Pulse of the Community Gala, held Sept. 19 at Holiday Valley, these community partners raised more than $100,000 to support cancer care services in our region. The funds will help purchase a new linear accelerator — vital equipment for radiation medicine in Olean — and expand access to 3D mammography at Bradford.

Their efforts bring hope, advanced treatment, and better access to lifesaving care for patients and families right here at home.
